FS2024 – Sky4Sim 1.7.0.0 Update
Hello dear simmers!
We are thrilled to announce the release of Sky4Sim version 1.7.0.0!
This update is a special milestone, as it introduces native support for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 (FS24).
We want to express our heartfelt thanks to all our users for their continuous support and for voicing their requests for a version of Sky4Sim compatible with FS24.
What’s New in Version 1.7.0.0?
This update mainly introduce the compatibility with Flight Simulator 2024 and the removal of Bing API key request on first launch. But it also introduce something new: The native support of Map background addons and several bug fixes.
- Initial Setup changes for handling FS2024
- Removed the request for a Bing key on first launch.
- Users are now asked which version(s) of Flight Simulator they have installed (MSFS and/or FS24) during the initial setup.
- Setup automation for FS2024
- Automatic Detection of Community and .pln Folders: Sky4Sim auto-detects the community folder and flight plan folder for FS2024
- Community Package Auto-Install: The application automatically installs the necessary community packages for FS2024.
- Bug Fixes and Performance Enhancements
- Fixed a bug preventing Windows shutdown.
- Fixed issues with OpenAIP, restoring functionality for the airspace map filter.
- Improved Navdata importation handling: If Sky4Sim cannot automatically retrieve navdata from the simulator, it now prompts users to manually download a Navdata file.
- New Feature: Map Addons Integration
- Sky4Sim now supports automated integration of map addons from the internet via the Integration tab.
- Users can easily add new map backgrounds, such as:
- Google Maps
- France OACI charts
- US sectional charts
- US IFR airways

In the coming weeks, we will release an upgrade for native integration of Sky4Sim as a new application inside FS2024 EFB
