Sky4Sim Pad and MSFS 2024
Dear Sky4Sim community,
I have luckily been part of the Alpha tech this weekend and I have been able to test the next Microsoft flight simulator aka FS2024!
As you can imagine one of the things I checked in priority was the native EFB in order to know if Sky4Sim would have a place on that new simulator or not.
I can tell already that the native EFB has almost all the same features sky4sim brought to MSFS like:
- A live MAP
- Ability to create and follow a flight plan
- A pilot book
- Ability to import your own charts
- Stopwatch
- Live information of your altitude / speed / heading
I think that this EFB could be more clear and more user friendly but the fact is that it does what it has to do.
I didn’t get any time to dig into the sim files to be able to know if the EFB system will be possibly modified by Addons and if it could be possible to add more application to it or even replace it by another EFB. I guess we will still have to wait for the official release to know if we have things to do or not on FS2024.
Right know, I don’t announce any support for FS2024 by sky4sim. Sky4sim will remain an MSFS addon so if you plan to move to FS2024 and you do not have the premium version of sky4sim, please do not upgrade to premium.
If the native FS2024 EFB can be improved by some 3rd party application, I’ll be happy to contribute to make it more easy to use or even to add more information / applications to it.
Even if FS2024 sign the end of Sky4Sim Pad, it is not the end of Sky4Sim. Other projects are still undisclosed so stay tuned!
More announcements will follow the release of FS2024!
Have many great flights!
